Pleasant View Gardens was founded on a simple idea: great gardens start with good plants, good soil, and good decisions.
Based in the West Metro, we specialize in gardens that are grounded in horticultural knowledge, not shortcuts. Our work reflects the realities of Zone 4 winters, challenging soils, and the desire for outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and functional.

Meet the Owner: Anita Volkenant
Anita Volkenant has had a passion for plants since childhood, planting her first garden at just three years old. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and Public Gardening and brings over 30 years of experience in the horticulture industry.
Inspired by her love of the outdoors, Anita founded Pleasant View Gardens—named after her family’s five-generation farm. For more than 20 years, we’ve partnered with homeowners throughout the West Metro to create beautiful, sustainable landscapes—spaces you’ll be proud to call your Pleasant View.

Our team brings more than 75 years of combined experience in garden design, installation, and long term maintenance. We have worked in residential gardens, estates, and managed landscapes throughout Minnesota, giving us a practical, real world understanding of what it takes to keep gardens looking good well beyond the first season.
We do not just install gardens and walk away. We maintain them, observe how they grow, and refine them year after year. That hands-on experience informs every recommendation we make, from plant selection to long term care.
Our staff is certified through the Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association and are active members of the Minnesota Horticultural Society and the Perennial Plant Association. Ongoing education is a priority for us, allowing our team to stay current on best practices, new plants, and evolving horticultural methods.
