Meet the Owner: Anita Volkenant
Anita has had a lifelong passion for plants, starting her first garden at the age of three. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture and Public Gardening and has worked more than 30 years in the field of horticulture.
Her enthusiasm and love for the outdoors inspired her in reaching her life-long goal of owning and operating her own gardening business. She decided to name her landscaping and property maintenance xeriscaping company after the five-generation family farm, Pleasant View.
With 20 plus years in business, Pleasant View Gardens has greatly increased its capacity to create and maintain fabulous outdoor spaces throughout the West Metro area. Their mission remains the same: to create beautiful spaces filled with unique plant material, allowing you to enjoy your ‘Pleasant View’.
Our Team
Our staff has a combined experience of 50 years plus of experience in the industry. We are certified through the Minnesota Landscape Association (MNLA), are members of the Minnesota Horticultural Society, and the Perennial Plant Association. We continue to educate ourselves on new processes and methods in the horticulture industry. Our staff of garden experts are eager to assist you with your outdoor gardening needs.
A Strong Minnesota Heritage
At Pleasant View Gardens we are strongly rooted in our family history. Pleasant View Gardens is a family owned business that originated in 2006, but our story truly begins in 1864 with the establishment of the family farm just west of Minneapolis, MN.
Pleasant View Farms and its operation is carried on by the fifth generation owners and continues to prosper and grow. Our family’s desire to be environmental stewards has not changed throughout the generations, and our desire to create beautiful and naturally enjoyable spaces continues to grow!
